About Us

Entryway into the Mansion.

With the help of its members (see Become a Member and Friend), the Foundation supports the Governor’s Mansion by:

  • Offering guided tours of the house to the public, at no charge, on most Wednesdays throughout the year (see Tours).
  • Insuring and maintaining  a historical library and the French, English, and American antiques in the public rooms of the Mansion.
  • Insuring and maintaining the collection of works by Northwest artists, including the magnificent hand-painted murals in the state dining room.
  • Repairing (and replacing, when necessary) custom carpets and drapes in the public rooms.
  • Providing and decorating a special holiday tree for the ballroom each December.
Mission Statement
The Governor’s Mansion Foundation, an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan organization, honors the historical and cultural importance of the Washington State Governor’s Mansion by maintaining  and enhancing furnishings and art for the public rooms of the Mansion, educating the  public about the Mansion and its history and advocating on its behalf.
The Governor’s Mansion Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
