MAY GOVERNOR’S MANSION TOURS CELEBRATE VETERANS – RESERVE TODAY

OLYMPIA – The Governor’s Mansion Foundation’s May tours, hosted by foundation docents, will showcase the Mansion grounds in full spring color/cheer while touring all nine public rooms. In addition, and in honor of Memorial Day, past and present Mansion residents and family members who have served in the Armed Forces will be honored along with all veterans who have served. Tour guests will receive a red poppy – the national symbol of remembrance and pledge to “Never Forget” those who served to protect our freedom. The tour will also include the Mansion’s new family photo display highlighting the six state governors in office before the Mansion was completed and the sixteen families who have lived in the Mansion since construction was completed in 1909.  The half-hour tours are set for Wednesdays May 1 and 8th with tour times at 10, 10:30, 11 and 11:30 a.m. To make a reservation visit the Department of Enterprise Services’ website at https://apps.des.wa.gov/mansion/mansion.aspx to complete an online Mansion Tour request form.

Each tour time is open to 30 guests. Visitors to the Georgian-style mansion, situated on a bluff overlooking Capitol Lake, Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains will visit all nine public rooms.
