OLYMPIA, Wash. – A virtual “Summer Social” to benefit the Washington State Governor’s Mansion Foundation (GMF), will be held – via ZOOM, on Sunday, August 16, 2020 beginning at 4:30 pm. (PDT). Steinway Artist Judith Cohen will present “Mighty Miniatures” – a presentation of short pieces by Beethoven, Scarlatti, Ravel, Debussy and Prokofiev. According to Radu A. Lelutiu, Fanfare magazine, “(Judith) is without doubt a first-rate artist. If you have ever wondered how Wilhelm Kempff might have sounded playing Prokofiev, here is your chance to find out.” Judith is also the Artistic Director of the ever-popular Governor’s Chamber Music Series. Two of GMF’s four concerts are programmed by Judith each concert season which runs annually from October through May. The Governor’s Mansion Foundation, with more than 200 members, is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan organization, that honors the historical and cultural importance of the Washington State Governor’s Mansion by maintaining and enhancing furnishings and art for the nine public rooms of the Mansion, educating the public about the Mansion and its history and advocating on its behalf.
